- LocalMein is for neighbours and local shops. Treat people the way you would across the counter.
- There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
- Report or block anyone, from any shop, listing, review, message or profile.

Zero tolerance
By using LocalMein you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Service. There isno tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks these guidelines is removed, and accounts that post it are suspended or banned. These guidelines apply to everything on LocalMein: shop names and photos, listings, offers, reviews, chat messages and profiles.
What is not allowed
- Sexual content: nudity, pornography, sexual services, or intimate images of anyone shared without their consent.
- Harassment and abuse: threats, insults, stalking, unwanted contact after someone has asked you to stop, or doxxing.
- Hate and violence: content that attacks people for their religion, caste, gender, ethnicity, disability or similar, or that promotes violence or terrorism.
- Scams and fraud: fake shops, fake offers, advance-payment scams, phishing links, or asking for OTPs or passwords.
- Fake reviews: reviewing your own shop, paying or rewarding people for reviews, or attacking a competitor with false reviews.
- Impersonation: pretending to be another person, shop or brand, or using their name or logo without permission.
- Misleading claims: false prices or discounts, false urgency, miracle cures, or guaranteed results.
- Illegal or banned items: medicines, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons, fireworks, or food and medical services without the required licence.
- Others' intellectual property: photos, designs or brand names you do not have the right to use.
- Children: any content that sexualises or endangers children. We report it to the authorities.
- Spam: repeated, irrelevant or automated posts and messages.
Report and block
- Report: tap the menu on any shop, listing, offer, review, message or profile and choose Report. Pick a reason and add details if you can.
- Block: block a user or shop from their profile or your chat. They can no longer message you, and you will not see their content.
- You can also report by email or under Help & Grievances. See Grievances.
- Reports are confidential. We do not tell the other person who reported them.
What happens next
- We review every report and act within 24 hours. Intimate images shared without consent are removed within 2 hours.
- Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, hide a shop, warn the user, restrict features, suspend the account, or ban it permanently.
- Illegal content may be reported to the police or other authorities, as the law requires.
- If we act on your content or account, we tell you why. You can contest the decision through our grievance process.
