The short version
- Give us your real legal name, address and contacts, and your GSTIN if you are registered.
- Keep the licences your business needs, such as FSSAI for food, valid and uploaded. We may hide a listing until they are verified.
- You alone are responsible for what you sell, its price, taxes, quality, refunds and cancellations.
- No fake reviews. No using another business's name or brand without permission.
- Paid placements cost the shown fee plus 18% GST, are not refundable once placed, and are always labelled Sponsored.
This agreement is between you, the seller, and [Company legal name — pending incorporation], [Registered office address] ("LocalMein", "we", "us"). It applies in addition to the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines. You accept it in the app before your shop goes live. Agreement version 2026-10-15.
Who this applies to
Anyone who lists a shop, product or service on LocalMein: shops, home businesses such as home bakers and tiffin services, professionals such as doctors and tutors, and service providers such as salons, plumbers and caterers. If you list on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Your business details
- Give accurate details: your legal name (or your business's legal name), trade name, address, phone and email. Keep them up to date.
- If you are registered for GST, give your GSTIN. If you are not, confirm that you are not required to be.
- Some of these details are shown to buyers because the law requires marketplaces to display seller identity and contact information.
- We may check your details against public records, such as the GST portal, and ask for documents.
Licences and registrations
You must hold, and keep valid, every licence or registration your business needs. For example:
| If you sell | You need |
|---|---|
| Food of any kind, including home kitchens, tiffin services, bakeries and caterers | FSSAI registration or licence (14-digit number) |
| Medical consultations, clinics | Registration with the State Medical Council or National Medical Commission, and clinical establishment registration where your state requires it |
| Dental services | Dental Council registration |
| Real estate | RERA registration, shown on every listing and offer |
| Gold jewellery | BIS hallmarking with HUID |
| Packaged goods | Legal Metrology declarations on the listing (MRP, manufacturer, net quantity, country of origin) |
| Coaching for students | Registration under your state's coaching-centre rules, where they apply |
- Upload the licence number, its expiry date and a copy when the app asks. Renew it before it expires.
- We may hide your listings until a required licence is verified, and hide them again if it expires or is cancelled.
- Do not list anything you are not allowed to sell. Medicines, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, fireworks and other banned items are not allowed on LocalMein at all.
Your responsibility
You alone are responsible for:
- the goods and services you offer, their quality, safety and description;
- your prices, discounts and any advance you ask for, which must be the real price you will charge;
- collecting payment from buyers, issuing bills or invoices, and paying all taxes on your sales;
- your refund, return and cancellation policy, which you must show on your shop and honour (see Refunds and cancellations);
- food safety, hygiene and labelling, if you sell food;
- professional standards and advertising rules for your profession, for example no testimonials or guaranteed cures in medical listings;
- the conduct of you and your staff during deliveries and home visits.
LocalMein is not a party to your sales and does not collect buyers' payments on your behalf.
Names, brands and reviews
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another shop, person or brand.
- No use of others' brand names or trademarks without authorisation. If your shop name or listing uses a known brand, we may ask for a franchise letter, dealership certificate or trademark certificate.
- Shop names that match or closely resemble protected brands go to manual review before they appear.
- No fake reviews. Do not write reviews of your own shop, pay or reward people for reviews, or post reviews of competitors.
- No false urgency, fake discounts or misleading claims in listings and offers.
Paid placements and credits
- You can pay LocalMein to show an offer in Nearby, boost it to your followers, or buy credits for LocalMein services. These are optional.
- Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Fees are subject to 18% GST, and we issue a tax invoice.
- A paid placement or boost is non-refundable once it has been placed, except where the law requires a refund or it did not run because of a fault on our side.
- Paid content is always labelled Sponsored. You cannot ask us to remove that label or to present paid content as an ordinary result.
- Paying does not change your organic ranking, your reviews or your verification status. See How ranking and ads work.
- Credits can only be used for LocalMein services and cannot be withdrawn as cash, except as the seller credits terms in the app allow.
Your content
You keep ownership of your shop name, photos, descriptions and listings. You give LocalMein a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize, translate and share that content to run and promote the Service, including on your public storefront link and in LocalMein's own marketing of your shop. You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload. This licence ends when you delete the content or your shop, except for copies already shared or kept as the law requires.
Buyer data
You receive a buyer's name, phone or address only to fulfil that order or booking. Do not use it for anything else, do not add buyers to marketing lists without their consent, and do not share it. Delete it when you no longer need it for the order, subject to your own legal record-keeping duties.
Suspension and termination
- You can close your shop at any time from the app.
- We may hide listings, suspend or close your shop if you break this agreement, the Terms or the law, if a licence is missing or expired, if we receive repeated valid complaints, or if we are ordered to by a court or the government.
- Where reasonable, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can contest a decision through our grievance process.
- Unpaid fees remain payable after closure.
Indemnity and liability
You agree to indemnify LocalMein, its directors and staff against claims, penalties and costs arising from your goods or services, your content, your breach of this agreement, or your breach of any law, including tax, food safety, consumer protection and intellectual property law. To the extent the law allows, LocalMein's total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Grievances
Complaints about LocalMein, or about a decision we made on your shop, go to our Grievance Officer. SeeGrievances for the process and timelines.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of India. Subject to any consumer forum you are entitled to use, the courts at the city of our registered office have jurisdiction. We may update this agreement; we will tell you in the app before significant changes take effect, and may ask you to accept the new version to keep selling.
